Magellan is database independent. This means that Magellan is available, as an option to the standard solutions, as a client-server solution for large schools while offering the same user interface. Magellan's modular concept and scalability make its use possible in primary schools, junior and senior secondary schools including grammar schools or vocational schools.

In addition, Magellan's client capability and the client server conception offer on-going solutions for educational centres and for a number of schools of an educational body or area, where the data stock of the schools is administered in a common database. Resources are shared and, therefore, costs are reduced.
